Auto Heating and Cooling Repair in Middle River, MD
Heat that will not warm the cabin, air that will not cool it, and an engine that runs hotter than it should. Same system family, so we read them together.
Chapter 01
Cold heater, warm air conditioning, hot engine
Drivers usually notice this in July or January, which is the worst time to lose either one. The symptoms sort into a few families, and knowing which one you have saves a lot of guessing.
A heater that blows cold while the temperature gauge reads normal often points at the heater core, a blend door that is stuck, or air trapped in the cooling system. A heater that smells sweet and fogs the windshield can mean the heater core is leaking coolant. An air conditioner that blows warm may be low on refrigerant because of a leak, or it may have a failed compressor clutch, a clogged condenser or a blower that has given up.
The engine side matters just as much. A gauge that climbs in traffic and settles down on the highway, a coolant puddle under the front of the car, a radiator fan that never comes on, or a hose that feels soft and swollen all say the same thing: the cooling system is losing the argument with the heat.

Find the leak, find the cause, then quote
Our ASE certified technicians start with the question of why, not with a part. Why is the coolant low? Why is the refrigerant gone? Topping off either one without finding the loss only sets a timer. At our shop on Old Orems Rd we locate the leak or the failed component first, then tell you what the repair involves.
That order protects you from the repair that does not stick. A radiator replaced when the real problem was a stuck thermostat, or a compressor replaced when the real problem was a leaking line that let the charge out, is money spent twice. Mike's rule applies here as much as anywhere: we will only sell you what you need.
Customers have told us what they value is being talked through the process. One wrote that Mike calmed them down, talked them through everything and kept them updated the whole time with texts and pictures. A picture of a leaking hose end or a clogged fin pack is better than any explanation.
Chapter 03
Comfort is the small reason to fix it
A working heater clears a fogged windshield, and a cooling system in good health keeps an engine from cooking its head gasket. Neither is just about comfort. An overheated engine is among the costliest things that can happen to a car, and a hose caught early costs a fraction of what the engine does.
